Why do people come for counselling?

Why Seek Counselling?
People come to counselling for many different reasons. You might be going through a life-changing event that has brought feelings of shock, grief, or loss. You could be struggling with depression, anxiety, or low self-esteem, even if you're not sure why these emotions are surfacing. It's common to feel isolated or overwhelmed when dealing with these challenges. Counselling offers a supportive space where you can explore your feelings, understand their root causes, and begin to heal.
Counselling is a personal journey, and forming a connection with your counsellor is essential. It’s important to feel comfortable and supported, which is why I always encourage an informal chat before our first session. This way, you can decide if I’m the right counsellor for you. I’m happy to arrange a phone call so we can talk about how I work and whether we’re a good fit before moving forward.
I specialise in person-centred counselling, which means that I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs. I work with individuals facing a variety of issues, including:

  • Depression and Anxiety
  • Relationships / Couples therapy
  • Coping with ADHD (or Attention-deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder)
  • Bereavement and Loss
  • Menopause-related challenges
  • Chronic Illness, Disability, and Health Anxiety
  • Workplace Stress and Well-being

If you're ready to take the first step, or simply want to chat about how counselling might help you, feel free to call me for an informal conversation at 07446 810549. Please note that during counselling sessions, I won’t be able to answer the phone, but you can leave a message or send me a text, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
You can also email me at [email protected] to arrange an appointment or for any questions.
