Why counselling?

Why do people come for counselling?

You might come to see a counsellor for a variety of reasons. You may be facing a life-changing event that has created shock or grief.  You may be experiencing feelings of depression and isolation, low self-esteem or suffering from feelings of anxiety, without fully understanding why. Counselling can  help you to explore these feelings and emotions and also help you to understand why you are feeling them.

It is important to form a connection with your counsellor and you may not engage with the first person you meet.  I fully encourage you to get in contact with me first of all for an informal chat to see if we get along, I am quite happy to have a chat over the phone before we meet to see if you feel happy to proceed.

I work in a person-centred way, covering a wide range of issues including:
  • Depression and Anxiety
  • Bereavement and Loss
  • Menopause
  • Illness, disability and health anxiety
  • Work place well-being

Some people find that being constricted in a close, formal setting does not suit them.
This is where as an alternative I can also offer Eco-therapy which may suit you better.  To discover more about this or to find out a little more in general please click on one of the headings above.

*Or why not simply give me a call for an informal chat on 07446 810549.

*I will not answer my phone during counselling sessions. If you need to change or cancel an appointment I would prefer if you could notify me by text or email joannevogelcounseling@outlook.com
Alternatively please leave your number and I will get back to you at the earliest opportunity.
